Toronto FC will have to bid bon voyage in order to win the Voyageurs Cup this year.

Canada Soccer announced on Tuesday that the Canadian Championship final between TFC and MLS arch-rival CF Montreal will be played on Sunday Nov. 21 at Stade Saputo in Montreal at 1 p.m.

Host Montreal looks to repeat as champions from 2019 against the Reds, who are seven-time winners. It will be the third time in the past five years that Toronto and Montreal have faced each other in the final. The winner of the Canadian Championship gains entry into the 2022 Concacaf Champions League with an opportunity to play in the 2022 FIFA Club World Cup.

Neither TFC nor Montreal qualified for the MLS Cup playoffs this year and are looking to salvage disappointing seasons by winning the Voyageurs Cup as Canadian champions.

CF Montreal were the winners of the 2019 Canadian Championship and are the defending champions pending the playing of the 2020 Canadian Championship final between TFC and Forge FC that was suspended due to COVID-19.

Tuesday was a quiet day on the TFC rumour front after a wild Monday as reports and rumours ran wild. It was reported that:

— LAFC coach Bob Bradley, whose son Michael captains TFC, was going to join the Reds. A TFC source called those claims bogus.

— Italian great Lorenzo Insigne was linked with TFC as it was reported his agent was seen at Toronto's final regular-season match of the year on Sunday at BMO Field, a 3-1 loss to D.C. United.

— TFC Designated Player Yeferson Soteldo was on his way to Brazilian club Palmeiras. That has not been confirmed, but it seems pretty likely that the Venezuelan midfielder and TFC assist leader will be moved in the off-season, even though he is still under contract. It has been reported that he is not a good fit in the TFC locker room.
